Akshay Kumar, bollywood’s action king has been awarded a doctorate. Akshay Kumar received this Honorary Doctorate of Law from the University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada.The canadian university awarded the doctorate to Akshay Kumar for his stupendous work in bollywood film industry and contribution to social work.
Akshay Kumar joins the elite bollywood list:
Akshay Kumar joined the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Yash Chopra, Shilpa Shetty and Shabana Azmi as a bollywood actor to recieve a doctorate from a foreign university. Akshay Kumar had played a major role in raising money for Trillium Health Care Centre in Mississauga and the Vancouver Children’s Hospital and he was also the Indian ambassador for the Special Olympics.
Akshay Kumar values the doctorate much higher than oscar:
Akshay Kumar was obvious thrilled to receive the doctorate and said, “Wow! This really is one of the most nerve-racking days of my life. My hands are shaking”, while receiving the award at a ceremony at the University Chapel in Ontario, jampacked with Akki fans.
Akshay Kumar valued the doctorate much higher than an oscar award, which every film personality in this world dreams to win.Akki said, “I don’t think even an Oscar would mean as much as this means to me. Indians believe that our success lies at the feet of our parents. It’s not I who should be receiving this award, but my parents”.
Paul J Rennick, the President of the University, honoured Akshay Kumar for his outstanding contributions and said: “We take particular pride and pleasure in honouring men and women of achievement and altruism, whose lives manifest the values of integrity, discipline and learning that are at the heart of the University.”
