Emraan Hashmi starrer Jannat is proving to be a big hit in bollywood. Emraan Hashmi plays the role of a basically good middle class guy with an ambitious streak in the movie Jannat.
Jannat is about betting in cricket:
In Jannat, Emraan Hashmi takes to cricket betting to amass wealth before love for a girl makes him turn a new leaf.At a time when movies like Tashan from the Yashraj stable and Ravi Chopra ’s Bhoothnath have elicited a lukewarm response from cinegoers, amid the frenzy for the IPL cricket matches, Emraan Hashmi’s ‘Jannat’ has evoked tremendous curiosity among the audience. Probably the timing of the movie was also right. Jannat is about betting in cricket and the theme seem to have gone well with the cricket crazy Indian public, at a time when they are busy following Indian Premiere league (IPL) cricket matches.
It is being said that ‘Jannat‘ has taken an opening which is at par with that of 2008’s biggest success Race and it has also matched the records set by another bollywood movie “Welcome’.
Mahesh Bhatt and Emraan Hashmi surprised at Jannat’s success:
Mahesh Bhatt said, “We at Vishesh films were confident about the film’s script and were quite confident about its doing well. At the same time, we were also circumspect as just a few weeks ago we witnessed the mighty fall of ‘Tashan’. However, the opening that the film got was much beyond our expectations. We had not expected the film to garner such a phenomenal response”.He added, “Infact, the collections garnered by Jannat is the biggest response generated by any film in our entire career”.Even Emraan Hashmi is surprised at the stupendous success of Jannat.
