Mallika Sherawat targetted by the TN moral brigade

It is Mallika Sherawat now and it was shriya saran earlier for her sexy costume.Mallika sherawat was found guilty of improper attire.Kanirajan, a young Hindu Makkal Katchi activist had submitted a petition at the Periampet police station claiming that Mallika Sherawat’s dress and behaviour at an audio event hurt the sentiments of Tamils.His claim was, “She sat cross legged on the stage where the chief minsiter was seated”. The occasion was the audio release function of “Dasavatharam“, starring Kamal Hassan which was held at nehru Indoor Stadium on April 25. Chief minister M Karunanidhi was the chief guest at the event, which was also attended by Jackie Chan, Amitabh Bachchan, Mammooty, Hema Malini and others.
Well, the audio release of dasavatharam was a publicity event. Some big names in asia and bollywood were invited to add glamour and create pulicity. it was not a public function but a private function that the chief minister attended. It is a well know fact that chief minister Karunanidhi is a fan of Kamal Hassan and his participation in the function was to honour Kamal Hassan and be part of the promotion.
Now these publicity seeking petitions and stunts by some political outfits lack credibility. Being a private function as it was, they had no legitimate reason to feel hurt. They should first stop attending such functions, intended for promoting the popularity of films, before feeling hurt. Then they should stop voicing their concerns, on behalf of Tamils, for a publicity seeking private function.The people of Tamil Nadu are brainy enough to understand the intention of such propaganda functions, gimmicks, and to judge the morality of the participating celebrities and the so called guardians of Tamil culture. Tamils never asked or voted them for raising such concerns over improper attire at a publicity seeking private film function.
The controversy also briefly echoed in the Tamilnadu assembly as well, when PMK’s MLA Vel Murugan raked up the issue of the Mallika Sherawat’s choice of dress.Let these gimmicks stop and let the people not promote such publicity seeking private film functions. Tamils would never endorse such gimmicks intended for private filmy promotion.
