Monica and Munna starrer “Silanthi” is directed by former journalist Adhiraj.Monica and Munna play the lead roles in the Tamil movie Silanthi, which is a romantic thriller.”Silanthi” is a kollywood movie that defy set sentiments and superstitions that prevail in strong>kollywood.”Silanthi” is all set for release today.
The title “Silanthi” is considered to be an unfortunate on as per the prevailing superstitions in kollywood.”Silanthi” is considered to be unfortunate because of the hurdles faced by Sarath kumar and Jyothika starrer “Pachaikili Muthucharam“, thatwas initially titled “Silanthi“. The title “Silanthi” was considered as a doomed one and hence it was later changed to “Pachaikili Muthucharam“. Though the film was rechristened “Pachaikili Muthucharam“, it failed miserably in the box office.Director Aadhiraj, however, probably wanted to prove the sentiments wrong and he had courageously chosen the “ill-fated” Silanthi as title to his movie.
Monica, who had earlier acted in Thangar Bachchan’s “Azhagi”, and yesteryear actress Jayabaduri’s sister’s son Munna have teamed up for the movie.
Fauziya, has been chosen as the woman cinematographer for the movie. Fauziya, had earlier worked in the movie “Uyir”.However the producer of “Uyir” had accused Fauziya of sluggish work that resulted in the delay of the movie “Uyir”. Aadhiraj was unperturbed by this sentiment and went ahead with his choice of Fauziya as the cinematographer. Fauziya proved to be a good choice and had lived up to Aadhiraj’s expectations by helping him finish the movie within 60 days.
